Yay, New Challenges! / Jupi, nova izziva!

  I so loooove challenges and swaps! They are pushing me forward in learning and challenging my boundaries ...
  Izzive in izmenjave so čudovit način, da se obogatim svoje znanje in da poskušam iti preko svojih trenutnih sposobnosti pri ustvarjanju.

  I'm participating in the Heart and Texture Swap 2013 of the Polymer Clay Swap FB group.
  Zato sem se prijavila za izmenjavo Srca in teksture 2013 v mednarodni Polymer Clay Swap skupini na Facebooku.

  AND, I've just signed up for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party, hosted by Lori Anderson. I've had such fun last year with my partner Amy and can't wait to see who I'm partnered with this year.
  SEVEDA pa sem se takoj prijavila tudi na sedmi Bead Soup Blog Party, ki ga tako uspešno organizira Lori Anderson. Lani sem zelo uživala in spoznala novo prijateljico - mojo partnerico v izmenjavi Amy, zato komaj čakam letošnjo izmenjavo.

Preparations for the Carnival / Priprave na pust

  This year the Carnival starts very early and this means I have only three weeks of time for all the preparations of the costumes - for my kids. They (specially the older one) have usually very specific and creative ideas for what would they like to represent - don't need to tell you that those type of costumes are not available for buying in the first supermarket or store. That means my sewing machine and all my hidden sewing skills have to come to light.
  Letos bo pust zelo zgodaj, kar pomeni, da imamo samo še tri tedne časa za vse priprave in izdelavo kostumov za tamala dva. Seveda imata vedno (še posebno starejši) kakšne "ekzotične" in zelo specifične želje glede kostumov, da jih v trgovini ne dobiš. To pomeni, da se morata prebuditi tako moj šivalni stroj, kot tudi moje skrite šiviljske sposobnosti.

  My boys still haven't taken the final decision for this year's costumes and that means I'll spent the last nights before the Carnival awake arguing with the sewing machine (when the deadline is too close it usually doesn't cooperate properly) ...
  Ker se moja dva še nista odločila, kaj bi pa rada letos predstavljala, bom najverjetneje zadnjih nekaj večerov pred pustom bedela in se kregala s šivalnim strojem, ki mi v naglici zelo rad ponagaja) ...

First Remake / Prva predelava

  I'll take you a few months back to the results of the Autumn swap: 7 participants had to make two different series of beads in autumn colours, and then in the second phase create a necklace with all the 14 different beads received from all the others.
  Danes bi vas rada popeljala v čas pred par meseci, ko sem sodelovala na Jesenskem swapu: 7 sodelujočih je izdelalo po dve različni seriji perl v jesenskih barvah in v drugi fazi izmenjave moralo izdelati ogrlico iz vseh 14 različnih perl.

  To je ogrlica, ki sem jo izdelala takrat:

  The difficulty was in creating a single necklace using all of the beads and they were so different between them (except one pair). I wasn't totally satisfied with the result and since then I was searching for some ideas to change it.
  Težavnost izdelave je bila v tem, da je bilo potrebno izdelati eno samo ogrlico z uporabo vseh perl, ki pa so bile zelo različne med seboj (razen enega para). Takrat s svojim končnim izdelkom nisem bila povsem zadovoljna in sem ves ta čas premlevala, kako bi ga spremenila.

  Danes vam lahko končno pokažem predelavo!

  I've put the beads more apart, using antique copper rings as spacers:
  Perle sem postavila bolj narazen in vmes dodala rinke v antično bakreni barvi:

  I added a leaf pendant, with the small leaf bead on it ...  

  Dodala sem tudi obesek v obliki lista in nanj obesila še perlo v obliki lista, ...

... a bird bead and a piece of green linen fabric:
... nato pa še tega ptička iz polimerne mase ter trak iz lanenega blaga:
